Art Exhibition
Jude Grace
Light & Gatherings
Jude Grace is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice begins with wandering and finding symbolism in nature. This exhibition captures that process through the landscape of Jacob’s Creek and its home in the Barossa region. Without agenda, Jude gathers the offerings she encounters, including bark, leaves, seed pods, and organic fragments shaped by season, weather, and time.
These attentive wanderings form the foundation of Light & Gatherings. What is collected is carefully transformed through thoughtful placement and restrained composition. Jude works in collaboration with the landscape, treating each found element as both symbol and messenger of place and the human experience.
Light completes the dialogue. As it moves across surfaces, textures emerge and shadows lengthen, echoing the rhythms of this distinctive terrain. South Australia is often described as “the driest state on the driest inhabited continent on Earth,” a landscape where resilience and restraint are essential. Within this apparent austerity lies a quiet invitation to contemplation, where forms are abstract and symbolic, and design is ever present in nature.
This exhibition invites viewers to slow down, notice what is often overlooked, and experience the landscape not simply as scenery, but as a living source of curiosity and wonder.
